Healthcare Youth Academy - Salina Regional Health Center
SRHC Healthcare Youth Academy is back this summer! This hands-on, interactive academy is designed for high school students eager to explore the dynamic world of healthcare. Whether you're already in high school or about to start as a freshman, we invite you to be part of this amazing opportunity! In past sessions, students had the chance to dive deep into the medical field by learning essential skills like operating an ultrasound machine, performing strep tests, mastering bleeding control techniques, and more! Plus, they even got a behind-the-scenes look at our Organizational Development department and witnessed the thrilling birthing mannequin simulation! The sessions will be held in conference room East and conference room 7 at the hospital from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm on the following dates: June 16, 2025 through June 20, 2025. Summer Intern - Salina Church of the Cross
Salina Church of the Cross (COC) is a courageous community of faith that is committed to expanding the circle of God’s love and turning faith into action through Neighboring. The Summer Intern will collaborate with our Neighboring Specialist on Youth programing for 6th-8th grade. Their focus will be on building relationships with youth through our Discover U program. Great Plains Manufacturing Scholars Program
Enhance your education with real-world, industry-specific training and get to your full-time career faster. With this scholarship, many students will earn their degree with little or no student debt. The Great Plains Scholars Program is a one-of-a-kind scholarship that helps students earn a bachelor's degree from one of K-State Salina's engineering technology programs. Students will gain first-hand exposure to specialized industry technology, including line assembly, robotic weld automation centers and more. Scoular Grain Industry - Work Study Program
The Scoular Work Study Program for high school students 16 and older offers paid work experience while earning academic credit. Interns will gain hands-on training, working closely with a team to develop professional skills. This program provides an opportunity to explore different career paths, build networking skills, and gain valuable experience for future job opportunities. Summer Student Volunteers - Salina Regional Health CenterStudent Volunteers are selected from high school and college students who apply for summer volunteering. Materials are posted online mid- March through mid-April annually. Click here for 2025 materials. Volunteer applicants must be in high school at the time of application and need to be able to contribute at least 30 service hours to Salina Regional during the summer months. Volunteers must meet GPA, health, orientation, and other hospital requirements. Students who meet hour and evaluation requirements are eligible to volunteer a second summer. The volunteer program targets students interested in healthcare careers, and most volunteers serve more than 30 hours during the summer. Some volunteers become employees or return later as healthcare professionals after completing academic studies. The number of Student Volunteers is limited each summer. Students are assigned to one of up to 25 hospital departments or units. Duties center on staff support; few involve direct patient interaction.
