The F.A.S.T. Track is a great way to explore careers in a real-world setting, gain marketable skills, and network with industry professionals. Students who successfully complete the F.A.S.T. Track Training can interview for potential summer and full-time employment as well as registered apprenticeship opportunities.
Great Plains Manufacturing Scholars Program
Enhance your education with real-world, industry-specific training and get to your full-time career faster. With this scholarship, many students will earn their degree with little or no student debt. The Great Plains Scholars Program is a one-of-a-kind scholarship that helps students earn a bachelor's degree from one of K-State Salina's engineering technology programs. Students will gain first-hand exposure to specialized industry technology, including line assembly, robotic weld automation centers and more. By completing the Scholars Program, students will have earned over 2,400 hours of relevant, professional manufacturing experience and their degree! Get Started
Scoular Grain Industry - Work Study Program
The Scoular Work Study Program for high school students 16 and older offers paid work experience while earning academic credit. Interns will gain hands-on training, working closely with a team to develop professional skills. This program provides an opportunity to explore different career paths, build networking skills, and gain valuable experience for future job opportunities. Scoular Grain Industry - High School Facility Operations Internship
Scoular’s Operations Internship immerses you in the daily operations of one of our 100+ facilities across North America. You’ll be at the heart of what we do, learning the business, driving a culture of safety

TurnUp - Civic and Activism Remote Internship
TurnUp is a 501(c)(3) non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to increasing youth civic education, empowerment, and engagement. They are inviting high school students to apply to their free Civic and Activism Remote Internship program. The program is free and the hours can be counted as community service hours. Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for volunteer opportunities in the Salina and Saline County community? Check out the links to local organizations below. Please take a moment to carefully review details to make sure you meet minimum requirements for the experience.
Program application begins March 15 of each year and closes by May 15 of each year. Visit www.srhc.com to make application under About—Volunteers. You must be in high school at the time of application. We require a minimum of 30 hours of service. If accepted to the program, we will assign you to one of many areas throughout the health system. Duties are generally NOT clinical in nature, but will still offer you a good introduction to the world of health care. Areas of service may include Food Services, Surgery Waiting Room, Cancer Support Services, Human Resources, Materials Distribution, Audiology Services, and more.
